Darren McFadden just shredded through the Louisiana State run defense, led by future top 5 pick Glenn Dorsey, for 206 yards and 3 TDs on the ground in addition to completely 3 passes for a touchdown.
This is hands down the number one overall selection in next April’s draft should he declare himself eligible. With the exception of the Vikings, who will probably go with a quarterback regardless, it doesn’t matter which team receives the top pick–this kid from Arkansas should and most likely will go number one. McFadden will continue to drawl comparisons to Adrian Peterson. Not to mention that his running style is extremely similar to him, and he is more versatile than Peterson. The way Peterson is racking up rushing yards in his rookie campaign, it has to be a good sign for the draft status of McFadden.
The Heisman in my book still goes to Tebow, but McFadden will make things close down the stretch after the game he had verses LSU, truly remarkable. Change of thought, right now I’d say that the Heisman would have to go to McFadden. As of now McFadden is at the top of my list, but it’s unbelievably close in the Heisman picture.
Move over Ronnie Brown, from the looks of it, hopefully you’ll be willing to share the backfield (as he did at Auburn) with a fellow SEC teammate.

For whatever reason, Andy Reid’s family issues has been widely published through the media. Whether you argue if it’s his problem or not, the excessive media coverage has to be affecting him in some way. This raises a big question:
Who will be coaching the Philadelphia Eagles if Andy Reid retires, gets fired, or resigns:
Now this is mere speculation, as the chances of Andy Reid’s job status being taken into question are unknown at this point, but…
The Eagles should be an interesting coaching situation if Andy Reid is not occupying the position next year. He’s going to be a tough guy to replace, and with (defensive coordinator) Jim Johnson approaching 67-years old it makes you wonder if the upper management is going to look to a defensive guy. The big names will be thrown around (Bill Parcells, Bill Cowher), but the Eagles probably will turn to a younger guy for the younger team they have.
There’s one potential candidate, who in my mind, stands above the rest and that would be Rex Ryan. First off, he is the son of former beloved Eagles coach Buddy Ryan. Ryan is widely considered one of the top assistant coaches in the league, being a part of the Ravens Superbowl 35 coaching staff, which consisted of Jack Del Rio and Marvin Lewis.
But hiring Ryan would require a great amount of trust in offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, which could ultimately decide where the coaching spot goes in Philadelphia should Andy Reid get fired.
Again the article is just written from the perspective should Andy Reid resign or retire because of family issues, and in no way do I think he should be fired or resign being he’s one of the better minds in football.

Week 11’s picks, with taking the spread into account (for entertainment purposes only). I’m getting them in early because I’m anxious to listen the portion of Bill Simmons’ podcast where he picks the spread with Cousin Sal, and I in no way want those predictions to influence my decision.
Note: I’m making these picks on Thursday and the odds might change before Sunday, for updated odds refer to Yahoo! Sports.
- Cincinnati (-3) over Arizona (at Arizona)
- Baltimore (+3) over Cleveland (at Baltimore)
- Washington (+10.5) over Dallas (at Dallas)
- Green Bay (-9) over Carolina (at Carolina)
- New Orleans (+1) over Houston (at Houston)
- Indianapolis (-14.5) over Kansas City (at Indy)
- San Diego (+3) over Jacksonville (at Jacksonville)
- Oakland (+5.5) over Minnesota (at Minnesota)
- New England (-16) over Buffalo (at Buffalo)
- NY Giants (-3) over Detroit (at Detroit)

Once again, I do not approve of gambling and picking teams with the spread just adds to the fun.

The Heisman race is really turning out to be intriguing, so here’s my top five.
1. Tim Tebow, Florida — His last game verses South Carolina really pushed him over the top for me. Not only did he throw the ball effectively for over 300 yards, but he took the ball down and ran it more than 25 times. The only reason he might not take home the hardware would be if Florida does not finish in the top ten or in a major bowl game, however there’s still a chance Florida can meet up with LSU in the SEC championship game.
2. Dennis Dixon, Oregon — At the beginning to the season, nobody thought that Dixon would even be mentioned in the Heisman discussion. He’s come a long way in his senior season, and that certainly has to go noticed. It looks like the Ducks will be playing for a National Championship, and if that happens one definitely has to rank Dixon right up there with the other Heisman hopefuls.
3. Darren McFadden, Arkansas — His numbers are unreal, and if Arkansas were in the top 10 there would be no questions raised about Darren McFadden winning the Heisman. There’s a huge drop between McFadden and the forth player in the Heisman race.
4. Todd Reesing, Kansas — There’s a chance that Kansas can run the table and present a great argument that they should be in the National Championship game. Todd Reesing has really been overlooked in the Heisman race, but should the Jayhawks go undefeated (never thought I would say that) then Reesing has to be considered.
5. Chase Daniel, Missouri — This spot would have belonged to Matt Ryan if his Eagles did not lose two straight conference games to Florida State and Maryland, both of which are inexcusable. Todd Boeckman was also a candidate, until his Buckeyes dropped a game to Illinois. That left me thinking, who to put at number five? Glenn Dorsey? Mike Hart? Colt Brennan? I’ve decided to give the Big 12 some love by throwing Chase Daniel in the Heisman race.
